Summer Camp Coach/Part Time Youth Athletics Coach

This PART-TIME job is perfect for college students, stay-at-home spouses, freelancers, empty-nesters/retired parents or anyone with a flexible daytime schedule.

This role will support Northville, Plymouth, South Lyon, Livonia and Novi. It is preferred that you live within 5 miles of the mentioned locations. All other candidates will be rejected.

WHAT IS KIDOKINETICS?

Kidokinetics is a mobile sports and fitness program for children. We bring our coaches, equipment, and program to preschools, daycare facilities, recreation/community centers, local parks, and/or private events. Our programs introduce children to 20 different sports, teaching them foundational skills through a new sport/fitness activity in every class.

WHAT DOES A DAY IN LIFE LOOK LIKE?

The coach is responsible for executing and delivering athletic enrichment to children ages 18 months to 6 years. They choose their lesson plan, pick up the equipment, and deliver exciting and fun activities in 30—or 45-minute increments, working in 1-3 hour blocks. The coach will also engage with daycare and preschool owners to maintain relationships, ensuring that Kidokinetics is always outperforming!

Future opportunities included growing into a head coach position, managing equipment, business development, and many other business, strategic and operational activities!

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience with children – required
• High School diploma
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a level 2 background check
• Reliable transportation is a must as we are a mobile program.

WORK LOCATIONS INCLUDE:

• Dexter, Ann Arbor, Saline, Canton, Plymouth, Livonia, Northville and expanding into other SE Michigan locations!

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Programs offered indoors and outdoors.
• Requires long periods of standing and activity (running, jumping, sitting, standing, pushing, walking, kneeling, etc)

Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans and arrives to each class prepared with the appropriate lesson plans, equipment, supplies and other materials to deliver the program
• Conducts classes in an enthusiastic, nurturing and safe manner
• Makes every effort to connect one-on-one with each child
• Addresses concerns or special needs for children and caregivers
• Proper use of time tracking and parent communication app to share the FUN with the parents and caregivers
• Is a good role model for young children physically, emotionally, and socially
• Works as part of a team
• Provides an environment of acceptance that supports and respects cultural differences
• Sets clear, consistent limits, has realistic expectations, and uses positive methods of child guidance
• Provides opportunities for each child to develop feelings of competence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude toward physical activity and learning
• Participates in training to improve skills and professional competencies
