After School Teacher

We are looking for an After School and Day Camp Counselor. This counselor will implement programming and activities to elementary aged kids, ensure a high level of participation, keep an eye on safety, and ensure a culture of inclusion, respect and fun.

Responsibilities

• The ability to create a safe, positive, and fun environment for elementary students.
• The ability to follow and implement a schedule, but also improvise and pivot to best fit the groups needs and abilities.
• The ability to juggle actively supervising a group of students while also addressing little issues and injuries as they come up.
• The ability to provide natural and logical consequences and disciplines to misbehavior, while remaining impartial and positive.

Requirements

• Experience working with groups of children. Elementary age is preferred but not required.
• Open and flexible schedule mostly for afternoons and evenings with few mornings.
• Strong Personality and Presence, the ability to get and keep the attention of a group.
• The fortitude to watch, play, manage, and keep up with a group of students.

Working Conditions

• The After School programs runs daily 2:00 to 6:30. Weeklong camps run throughout the summer and day camps happen on no school days, 8:00 to 3:30.
