Title: Program Director

Job Summary: Develops the programs and team to fulfill Kids Count's mission, vision, and goals. Design policies, procedures, and strategies to meet program objectives. Utilizes data-driven analysis and forecasting to measure and evaluate the performance of programs. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Assists in organizing and overseeing fundraising and community outreach events. Additionally, develop budgets and may manage the grant proposal process. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management

  • In consultation with the Executive Director, recruit, interview, and select well-qualified program staff
  • Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training, including ongoing DCF training
  • Provide supervision and guidance to program staff including providing feedback and resolving complex problems
  • Create and assist activity leaders with behavior management plans for students and ensure routines and procedures are enforced
  • Train and develop staff to successfully plan quality programming activities that are age appropriate and align with Kids Count’s mission and vision
  • Discover ways to enhance the efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and oversee the orientation process
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement mental health programming at Kids Count.
  • Ensure compliance with DCF rules and regulations
  • Cultivate a positive and supportive work environment

Program Development

  • Initiate and set goals for the program according to the strategic objectives of the organization
  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program
  • Identify new community partnerships and develop connections to grow Kids Count’s volunteer and donor base, as well as our enrichment programming
  • Develop positive relationships with parents/caregivers, teachers, and school administrators o Plan and coordinate all program activities in collaboration with the Duval Program Director to ensure continuity across both sites. Program activities include: Tutoring, homework help, social-emotional development lessons, enrichment, field trips, family events
  • Plan and coordinate summer camp program

Outreach and Administrative Areas

  • Ensure the program operates within the approved budget
  • Record expenses and maintain proper documentation of purchases
  • Assist Executive Director with grant reporting
  • Conduct pre & post reading assessments and SEL assessments throughout the school year
  • Develop and administer parent, student, and volunteer surveys
  • Ensure all paperwork is collected and completed including, but not limited to, attendance, income verification forms, permission slips, transportation logs, fire drill logs, physical safety checklists, and mental health intake forms
  • Assist Executive Director with fundraising projects/events
  • Assist Executive Director with donor contact including quarterly newsletters and thank you gifts
  • Provide a bi-monthly board report and attend board meetings
  • Keep Executive Director informed with monthly detailed and accurate reports or presentations

Qualifications

· Passionate about empowering children to reach their full potential

· Successful experience leading elementary-age children, including experience with literacy programs for emergent and struggling readers

· Ability to create a safe, nurturing, orderly, and enriching environment for children

· Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, parents, the board, and others in the community

· Strong managerial skills, being well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks

· Excellent critical thinking skills and sound judgment.

· Proven ability to make timely and sound decisions based on accurate judgment.

· Skills to proactively develop, evaluate, and improve the program

· Ability to supervise and manage multiple staff and volunteers
Successful completion of 40 hours on-line training in accordance with Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) regulations for school-age children (can obtain once hired)Valid Staff Credentials through DCF (can obtain once hired)

· BA or BS degree, preferably in the field of education or related field
First Aid and CPR certified (can obtain once hired)

Terms of Employment

1. Start Date: ASAP
2. Salaried, full time 12-month position
3. Salary range: $40,000 - $43,000 dependent upon degree and experience
4. Health insurance stipend of 65% of individual policy, not to exceed $45/biweekly pay period
5. Paid Time Off (PTO) will include:

a. During the academic year, all holidays of the Alachua County Public Schools with the exception of teacher workdays.
b. Two weeks in the summer when Kids Count is closed.
c. 10 additional PTO days (80 hours) each contract period awarded on July 1 of each year. Except in an emergency, PTO requests for more than two consecutive days must be made in writing to the Executive Director two weeks in advance and approved by the Executive Director.
d. PTO hours may roll forward after June 30 each year, with a maximum of
160 hours accumulated. No reimbursement for unused PTO balance when leaving Kids Count.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
