Job Title:
Hours per week: PART TIME Monday - Friday; position available immediately
Compensation: $14 - $17/hr, based on experience
Reports to: Director - Hayley Keiser & Owner - Maren Moore
We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team at Kids Garden. This is a wonderful opportunity to support a positive learning environment for young children, while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education.
As an Assistant Teacher, you will play an important role in supporting the classroom teacher, engaging with children, and helping to create a nurturing, creative environment where children can thrive and explore.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Classroom Management: Support the lead teacher in maintaining an organized, engaging, and safe classroom environment.
- Support Educational Activities: Help implement lesson plans and assist with age-appropriate activities that promote learning and creativity.
- Engage with Children: Encourage positive social interactions and assist with the development of children's emotional, social, and cognitive skills.
- Supervise & Support Students: Ensure the safety and well-being of children during activities, playtime, and transitions.
- Maintain Communication: Help communicate with parents, guardians, and team members about children's progress and daily activities.
- Assist with Materials and Classroom Prep: Prepare educational materials and supplies for classroom activities and ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and ready for the next activity.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, ideally in an early childhood or educational setting. Experience in a daycare, preschool, or other child-centered environments is a plus.
- Education: High school diploma required; some college coursework in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
- Passion for Education: A genuine interest in helping children learn and grow in a supportive and positive environment.
- Positive and Patient Demeanor: Ability to maintain a calm and patient attitude when working with children and in challenging situations.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with children, parents, and team members effectively.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with the lead teacher and fellow staff to create a positive, respectful, and fun learning environment.
- Background Check: Must be able to clear a background check and any state-specific requirements for working with children.
