Positions Open: Childcare Professional

Kids R Us seeks an experienced professional to work in our Early Childhood Development Center. The successful candidate will become part of a team providing children with a safe, healthy, stimulating, nurturing and developmentally-appropriate environment. The candidate must be a self-starter with an impeccable work ethic, a high level of professionalism, a nurturing personality and good judgment. Our mission is to support the needs of children, families and early learning professionals by providing high quality education, resources and child care services.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide for the health, safety and welfare of the children: Maintain a clean and safe environment both inside and out; encourage good eating habits; use appropriate sanitary practices; and maintain staff/child ratio and active supervision at all times
• Plan and provide for the social/emotional, physical and intellectual development of children in a developmentally-appropriate environment, following lesson plans with flexibility
• Help children develop social and the use of positive guidance techniques
• Encourage early interests and experiences with math concepts, language development and early literacy skills
• Encourage children’s interest and ability to enjoy a variety of music, movement and physical activity
• Observe, record and document children’s progress
• Encourage initiative, independence, problem solving, creativity and positive social skills
• Work cooperatively as part of a team to implement the program through open and effective communication, offer support to other team members, promote professional image of the center
• Encourage family involvement through daily communication with parents and parent/teacher conferences
• Attend professional development annually
• Obtain current CPR and First-Aid certificates within 30 days of hire date

Desired Skills/Traits: Energetic, outgoing, professional, detailed and able to maintain confidentiality at all times

• Experience in the early childhood education field

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED

• 45 hrs of Mandated Training (begin at time of employment & will complete within 1 year)
• Child Development Associate (CDA) - preferred but not required
• Degree in education-related field - preferred but not required
• Ability to lift and tend to children 0-5 years, stoop and bend to child’s level, and squat to floor level
• The potential candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug screening, as well as be willing to participate in continuing education. Kids R Us is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free Work Place.

Job Type: Part-time / Full-time positions available; Early Morning, Mid-day, Afternoon, Evening, and Night positions available. Pay will depend on experience working in a childcare setting
