What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Craftsman Sheet Metal Technician position at KIHOMAC?
- Perform all phases of aircraft structural repair to include:
- Manufacturing parts and assemblies
- Identification and fabrication of tooling, jig/fixture requirements and support
- Input/review of engineering designs, work with engineers to write work instructions
- Use bending, cutting, shrinking/stretching machine, press brake, metal shears, hand and pneumatic tools, specialty tooling, and create/modify tooling as needed
- Work within specified tolerances, drilling holes and reaming holes to final size
- Follow written instruction precisely
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Training (both required and desired):
- High School Diploma required
- Associate's Degree preferred
- 10 years of professional experience in the required task area required
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
- Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery
- Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
- Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
- Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time
