Kilauea Market Café is a grocery store and casual dining establishment! We offer the North Shore of Kauai a full-service grocery store and café that includes a coffee bar, beer and wine bar, fresh prepared foods, made-to-order specialties and an indoor and outdoor dining area.

Here is a list of our Departments and the Clerk roles you may be considered for:

• Courtesy Clerks - starting at $16.00
• Cashiers – starting at $17.00
• Office Clerks – starting at $17.50
• Grocery Clerks – starting at $17.00
• Produce Clerks – starting at $17.00
• Seafood Clerks – starting at $17.00
• We have AM, Mid, and PM shifts between the hours of 6am-8pm. **all roles listed may not be available for a specific shift schedule and are dependent on store availability needs.

Desired Work Experience

• Prior retail customer service is preferred.
• Cash handling experience is a plus
• Department related experience is a plus (administration, deli, seafood, produce, grocery, etc).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years or older
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must comply with all company policies and requirements.
• Must possess a valid TB Clearance or willing and able to obtain one prior to employment.

Responsibilities & Abilities

• All team members will meet the standards of excellent customer service under company policy ensuring performance contributes to the best interests of the store and maintaining good relationships with all team members..
• All team members will assist customers and maintain a positive, service-oriented attitude towards all customers, team members and our Company by adhering to the Company’s World Class Service Program.
• Department Clerks are responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising the department’s products.
• Department Clerks must be able to inform customers about our products and services and help increase sales by recommending additional items to customers.
• Departments Clerks must be able to maintain a clean, safe and appealing market to customers, including organizing items, managing inventory levels, pricing, stocking and rotation of merchandise and assisting customers when needed
• Office Clerks perform clerical services at the service center desk
• Office Clerks conduct weekly price changes, including changing shelf stickers, bonus buy signs, store specials, item updates/deletions from computer system and maintaining overall price integrity in the store.
• Office Clerks will operate cash registers and checkstands to provide customers with accurate and efficient checkout service.
• Courtesy Clerks and Cashiers often bag their customers' orders and help shoppers find items in the store.
• Courtesy Clerks and Cashiers assist in the cleaning and dusting of the checkstands and surrounding areas and may take “return” products back to proper shelf locations.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds. Dependent on position
• Must be able to frequently bend, twist, and squat
• Ability to work in various temperature environments, including but not limited to wet, cold, dry, hot
