The Cost Accountant will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- Serve as an assistant/backup role to the Operations Finance Manager
- Assist in month-end closing, analyze inventory evaluation, and inventory roll forward
- Maintain the inventory relief process of subcomponents in creating high-level parts
- Assist with the quarterly physical inventories
- Perform inventory cycle counts, and analyze variances to resolve issues
- Set up and update standard costs of manufactured goods
- Analyze cost accounting data
- Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
- Recommend strategies to CFO and Operations Finance Manager
- Maintain knowledge of all current trends
- Work on special projects as required
- Other administrative duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
- Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis
- Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- 2 years experience in cost accounting
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
- Superior knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
