Position summary :

Kilgore College is a two-year, comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore, Texas and an extension center in Longview, Texas. With approximately 6,000 students, Kilgore College is a student-centered institution characterized by excellence in teaching and learning.

Position responsibilities :

This is a nine-month faculty position reporting to the department chair of mathematics. Expectations for this position may include the following : teach in afternoons and / or evenings (non-peak times); teach dual credit classes in high schools; develop and teach web classes; develop and teach hybrid or blended classes; and use instructional technology in the classroom. An additional opportunity of teaching during the summer semesters is available, as well. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to : participation in academic advising, registration, and regular office hours. It is expected that all instructors participate in committee work, professional development activities, and student recruitment / retention activities. All full-time faculty are required to complete online course certification through the KC Faculty Innovation Center within their first year.

Minimum Position Requirements :

• A master’s degree or higher in mathematics with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in mathematics is required.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience as a college instructor and a commitment to excellence in teaching are required.
• Preference will be given to applicants with three or more years of college teaching and experience teaching web courses.

Salary & Benefits :

Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program. As a result, employees / retirees of the college are subject to the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and possibly the Government Pension Offset (GPO) laws. All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.
