Kilgore Industries, one of the largest Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subcontractors in the state of Texas is growing, and the key to this growth is having the best team in the industry! We are looking for an experienced Service Manager who is looking to grow with the industry leader. The Service Manager is responsible for the management and development of the Service department at our growing Dallas branch.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Manage and develop team members within the Dallas Service department; including hiring, training, disciplining and when necessary, terminating team members; staff scheduling, prioritization of work, conducting staff meetings, and directing work assignments to ensure effective production.
- Consistently evaluate workload and Service schedules to ensure profit margins meet or exceed Kilgore standards.
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment for all team members, which includes regular instruction to crews on the proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
- Conduct research and participate in the service department's business development and marketing processes.
- Coordinate with Dispatch and Purchasing for timely and efficient workflow.
- Estimate service work to ensure profit margins meet or exceed Kilgore standards.
- Ensures that materials and equipment, including proper tools, are ordered and/or dispensed for scheduled jobs.
- Coordinate with other divisions within Kilgore to mutually achieve positive results on cross-trade projects and sales opportunities.
- Coordinate with Logistics to maintain a durable work fleet. Monitors fleet use and maintenance of vehicles to ensure proper operation and efficient operations.
- Maintain open availability to service technicians, team members, and customers to answer questions relating to service calls and procedures.
- Promptly resolve customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Work with relevant government agencies to secure inspections, permits, etc.
- Review payroll records to ensure that technicians are paid properly.
- Assist with billing and invoicing to ensure accurate pricing and profitability.
- Assist in the dispatching operation to ensure appropriate technician selection for the type of service.
- Work with sales staff and management to bring new customers and technicians to Kilgore to meet the demands of the Commercial HVAC business.
- Work in a collaborative manner with Kilgore management of other divisions and departments; including the financial, administrative, customer care, and logistics; to optimize efficiencies and revenue opportunities.
