Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care within our ophthalmology clinic. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to assist in the delivery of eye care services. The Ophthalmic Technician will work closely with both patients and healthcare providers, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary eye examinations and gather patient history.
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical systems such as Epic.
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Ensure compliance with medical coding standards for billing purposes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but not a requirement.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to ophthalmology.
- Experience with electronic health record systems, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent patient care are essential for success in this role.
