The Safety Specialist is responsible for workplace safety programs, OSHA compliance, and engaging employees and supporting safety practices across all departments. This role works closely with teams at all levels of the organization to ensure a safe work environment.
Example Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Oversee OSHA record keeping compliance
- Investigate workplace incidents and manage incident follow-up including reporting requirements
- Conduct workplace safety inspections and recommend improvements and corrective actions
- Manage programs related to key safety topics including hazard communication, PPE, forklifts, and more
- Lead safety trainings and meetings to ensure employees understand and follow safety policies and practices
- Build strong relationships across the organization to promote a positive, proactive safety culture
Required Experience and Skills:
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing, including at least 3 years of experience in a full-time manufacturing safety role
- Strong communication skills for presenting and facilitating training
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
