SUMMARY
Responsible for analyzing and monitoring the credit worthiness of the bank’s customers. Analyzes credit data to estimate degree of risk involve in extending credit or lending money to firms or individuals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Obtains loan request information from commercial lender or borrower to analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to the loan
Analyzes loan data on new, renewal and existing commercial loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, other financial institutions and financial institution files
Researches background documentation and reviews personal and business financial statements and tax returns. Analyzes financial information and prepares the preliminary analysis for the lender
Reviews and prepares written analysis, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions. Prepares and assists in the preparation of loan memorandum for presentation to lenders and/or loan committees
Assists with annual review of Bank's large relationships and assigns grades in accordance with loan policy.
Work with loan officers and bank management to collect financial and credit file documentation used in credit request analysis.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in finance or accounting or related field or two years credit analyst experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
BANK SECRECY ACT
In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies.
