The Opportunity:
KMS is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Special Educator to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have expertise in supporting diverse learners and experience with structured literacy approaches such as Orton-Gillingham (OG) or Wilson.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, close-knit environment that values academic growth and athletic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and small-group instruction to support students with learning differences, particularly in reading, writing, and executive functioning skills.
Deliver 1:1 support to address unique student needs and help them achieve academic success.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement strategies that align with IEP and 504 plans.
Utilize evidence-based strategies, including OG or Wilson methods, to LBLD students..
Monitor student progress, track data, and adjust instruction to ensure continued growth.
Partner with faculty, families, and support staff to develop and execute Student Support Plans and accommodations.
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student confidence and independence.

KMS seeks an experienced, flexible, and student-focused educator who is passionate about supporting diverse learners.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience, licensure or certification in Special Education.
Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or similar structured literacy programs (preferred).
Proven success in working with middle and/or high school students with learning differences.
Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, intervention strategies, and compliance with IEPs and 504 plans.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with classroom teachers.
Flexibility to adapt to a blended-learning environment, supporting both in-person and traveling students.
