Temporary Senior Staff Accountant
We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. Our firm is looking for a Temporary Senior Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced team. If chosen as the successful candidate, you will be responsible for assisting the Accounting department in various accounting functions which support our Business Real Estate Group, including accounts receivable, billing, and reporting.

Compensation: $65,000-$80,000/year
Responsibilities:
- Perform accounting functions for the Business Real Estate Group, including accounts receivable collections, client billing, and client refunds
- Facilitate wire transfer requests
- Create monthly compensation, bonus reports, variance analysis and other ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Create accounts receivable reports based on attorney billing
- Perform reconciliations/postings of merchant fees and account analyses of benefits accounts and specified balance sheet accounts
- Assist with monthly online billing submissions using various Client Partner / Insurance Carrier billing platforms
- Review and post inter-departmental billing transactions
- Perform month-end journal entries
- Accept collection credit card payments by phone
- Supervise BREG Staff Accountants while developing strategy for time management and client service on behalf of the BREG Accounting group.
- Participate in the evaluation of policies and procedures currently executed by and for the Business Real Estate Group to find process efficiencies and optimally deploy Firm resources.
- Provide backup support to Collection Staff Accountant in performing trust accounting for the Business Real Estate Group and Landlord Tenant practice group
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- 3-5 years accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong working knowledge and comfort with Microsoft Excel
- Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute
- High-volume typing or data entry skills with low error rate
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Versatile computer skills
- Strong communication skills
The following qualifications are preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Experience with ProLaw and BillingQ
Schedule:
Position is full-time at 40 hours/week. Schedule is 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday.
The primary responsibilities of this position require that the work be performed at the office full-time. We are not considering remote candidates at this time.
