JOB OVERVIEW
Kopari is seeking a temporary part-time Senior Accountant, to help in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting & Finance department. The Senior Accountant will support the CFO in a variety of accounting duties inclusive of transactional processing, assist in the preparation and review of timely and accurate financial statements, executive management reports, financial & cost analysis, annual forecast and budget development, and financial audits. They will provide daily financial oversight to ensure that the financial records are complete, accurate and comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), policies and regulations.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead monthly and year end accounting close, including but not limited to the preparation of executive management reports, budget variance analysis, inventory reconciliations, and journal entries
· Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable process while managing one direct report
· Ensure and maintain quality control over financial transactions
· Prepare and file 1099 reporting, multi-state sales tax and property tax returns
· Assist in the development and maintenance of reporting and internal control procedures
· Assist and participate in the preparation of annual financial audit and tax filings
· Assist with annual and quarterly budgets, forecasts, and reports, including P&L by business unit
· Develop and Maintain electronic file system
· Accepts responsibility for the organizational goals by taking ownership of new and different duties and identifying new opportunities within the Accounting department
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
· 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
· Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
· Curious, motivated to learn, and passionate about process improvement
· Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls, accounting concepts and theory
· Experience with using and troubleshooting ERP systems a plus, preferably Net Suite
· Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookup)
· Problem solver with strong analytical and organizational skills
· Collaborative mindset with strength in effectively receiving and communicating feedback
· Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
COMPENSATION
This is a temporary part-time (20-25 hours per week) role, covering an existing employees leave.
The compensation for this position is $40.86/hourly
