Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Signal Hill, CA

Pay Rate: $30 - $35 per hour (Based on experience)

Schedule: In-office, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch)

Industry: Construction - Waste Hauling and Disposal

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This position will be responsible for managing and processing accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors. You will report directly to the General Manager/Controller and play a key role in supporting our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions accurately, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
• Maintain vendor records and communicate with vendors to resolve any discrepancies.
• Reconcile accounts payable with accounts receivable, ensuring consistency across all records.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Work closely with internal teams to streamline payment processes.
• Prepare reports on accounts payable for management review.
• Support audit activities by providing documentation as needed.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal teams and vendors.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of full-cycle accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment (50 invoices/day).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in processing invoices.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop accounting software.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Experience in the construction industry, specifically with demolition, remediation, and waste hauling is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
