About the Position :
As an Environmental Coordinator , you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability throughout the construction project lifecycle. You will work closely with the Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Manager, assisting with the review of environmental reports, sustainability performance measurement, waste disposal management, and more. Your role will be integral in ensuring that the project meets legal standards and sustainability goals. This is a full-time position requiring both preconstruction and construction phase involvement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review and analyze environmental and sustainability-related contract specifications, design documents, and solicitations from planning through final preparation.
- Assist in developing plans and specifications for environmental and sustainability compliance, monitoring, coordinating, and reporting.
- Manage special waste disposal processes and conduct environmental inspections to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Review and analyze environmental reports, identify potential violations, and collect samples (waste, water, soil) for analysis.
- Investigate environmental findings, interpret their impact, and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
- Measure sustainability performance and implement necessary actions to achieve sustainability goals, including CalGreen Tier 2 compliance.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies including RWQCB, AQMD, DTSC, LADPW, LAFD, and others, ensuring compliance with environmental and sustainability regulations.
Requirements :
Approximately five years of management-level experience in environmental compliance and sustainability, particularly in groundwater and soil site investigations.
