What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant / Receptionist position at Kin On Health Care Center?
- Greets all visitors at the nursing home front desk.
- Facilitates visitors to follow all the sign-in and sign-out procedures and directs visitors and families to the appropriate residents’ room.
- Answers incoming calls professionally and routes calls to the appropriate party and/or takes messages.
- Helps visitors and families as necessary and / or directs them to the right department.
- Performs clerical tasks: entering data or notes in the systems, copying, scanning, filing, faxing, and other clerical tasks which are assigned.
- Provides administrative support to the nursing home administrator.
- Collects and sorts all mail and packages and distributes to the departments correctly.
- Communicates with families and transportation companies with residents’ appointments.
- Communicates with departments in regards to vendor/contractor visits.
- Monitors the security of the facility through electronic devices.
- Be familiar with Kin On Emergency and Operation plan and protocols.
- Ensures facility regulations and protocols are adhered to including infection control e.g. wearing masks.
- Develops a basic understanding of the building structure and major equipment.
- Takes appropriate actions in response to emergency situations.
- Must follow the facilities policy and procedures on Infection Control.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or equivalent;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and other software as needed;
- Responsible, dependable and courteous;
- Works well with others and can multitask;
- Able to work with people of diverse background;
- Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Pay: $21.00/hour - $24.00/hour

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
The role resides primarily inside a temperature-controlled facility. Frequent full range of motion used such as standing, sitting, walking, lifting, manual dexterity, computer use, and exposure to common risks & conditions found in healthcare facilities.
