What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Kinderone Preschool?
Job Title: Assistant Teacher Reports to: Teacher, Lead Teacher or Director
Summary:
Assist teachers, supervise children, and clean facilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Assist Teachers to supervise children in an assigned area.
2. Must be readily available to move from classroom to classroom when more hands are needed.
3. Provide care, guidance, and developmental experiences that meet appropriate educational and
emotional needs of the children.
4. Must adhere to a diapering schedule (at least once every 2 hours).
5. Assist children in language acquisition and vocabulary building for 2 to 6 years old and/ or
assist in the infant learning environment for children to learn through active exploration and
interaction with adult caregivers.
6. Tidiness and organization of assigned classroom area and shared responsibility of the play
yard(s) clean up.
7. Shared responsibilities of preparation for scheduled meals (morning and afternoon snack, as
well as lunch).
8. Shared responsibilities of all general duties necessary for the well-being and safety of all the
children and their environment.
9. Attend all scheduled staff meetings, and staff in-service training.
10. Advise the Director of any item that requires repair or replacement and for any unsafe
conditions as they arise.
11. Using positive disciplinary action, assist children to correct misdirected behavior. Children
are to be treated with dignity and respect. Our goal is to correct the behavior without
condemning the child.
12. Must be bilingual or fluent in Spanish.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
