What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at Kindred Construction?
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Coordinator, under direction or moderate guidance, provides technical and/or management support for construction projects, including safety and quality control, and assists operations staff to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
The Project Coordinator will report to the Project Manager and interacts closely with the project team, consultants, sub-trades, and support staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes a culture of health, safety, and environmental protection on the project by taking an active role in the implementation of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program.
- Supports and maintains Kindred’s project management systems and procedures including digital platforms, project filing system, cost accounting system, and project directory
- Performs general administrative and record keeping functions including the review and distribution of documentation; preparation of correspondence, submittals and RFIs; maintenance of files, logs, drawings, and specifications; and records and distributes accurate meeting minutes.
- Assists with development and implementation of project scopes, schedules, and budgets and assists the CCA-1/CCDC-17 subcontract procurement process by obtaining trade contractor and vendor quotations/bids, reviewing specifications and identifying/requesting clarification as required.
- Assists with the review and processing of invoices and progress claims
- Supports the change order management process by securing pricing from the vendor/subcontractor, reviewing, and inputting the data for review, submitting change requests for approval, and following through with (sub)contract change orders / purchase orders as directed
- Supports and prepares for project close out by collecting warranties, O&M manuals, and occupancy documents; creating handover documents; demobilizing site; and archiving documents
- Develop and maintain working relationships with trades and suppliers
- Performs other related duties
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- 2 to 5 years of related work experience (or combination of relevant education and experience), on projects ranging from $5M to $20M for commercial projects, $1M - $10M for single family projects, or $1M to $5M for Special Projects.
- Working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, and specifications
- Working knowledge of current construction practices and methodology
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders
- Capable of working co-operatively to achieve team goals and objectives
- Ability to solve technical problems based on clearly defined procedures
- Strong computer skills with an aptitude for learning new programs. Familiarity with scheduling software an asset
- Functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment
- Ability to work with numbers to manage contracts, project budgets and basic accounting functions for invoice coding, and trade contract management.
- Ability to adapt to a new industry, company, environment while learning quickly from experience and in technical courses and seminars
- Ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles

Salary : $60,000 - $85,000
