The Cliffs Notes

The Talent Operations Manager at Kinective is responsible for overseeing the efficient execution of HR operations, with a focus on process optimization, our HRIS, benefits, and compensation. The Talent Operations Manager will work closely with HR, finance, and other teams to streamline workflows, enhance employee experience, and support the company’s mission of delivering seamless integration services and software products for banks and credit unions.

What you’ll own :

HR Systems and Tools Management

  • Manage and optimize the HRIS (Human Resource Information System) and payroll systems to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
  • Ensure employee data, including compensation, benefits, and time-off records, is updated accurately in HR systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams to implement system updates and improvements.
  • Generate regular reports for internal and external stakeholders compensation and workforce metrics.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on compensation trends, and workforce data to provide insights to management.

Compliance and Regulations

  • Stay updated on local, state, and federal laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure the company adheres to labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, tax withholdings, and reporting requirements.
  • Support company audits to ensure compliance (SOC1, SOC2, ISO, etc.)
  • Prepare and submit all required regulatory filings, including payroll tax filings and year-end reports (e.g., W-2s,1095Cs).
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration

  • Oversee employee benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries regarding health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-provided benefits.
  • Ensure accurate compensation adjustments (e.g., raises, bonuses) are reflected in payroll systems and communicate them to employees.
  • Provide analytical support for salary benchmarking and compensation strategy development.
  • Assist in administering employee benefit programs, ensuring employees have the information needed to make informed decisions.
  • Manage policy for and processing of all employee leaves of absence as well as disability accommodation (FMLA, ADA, STD, etc)
  • Employee Support and Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding inquiries related to our HRIS, benefits, and compensation, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Communicate policy changes and other important updates to employees in a clear and professional manner.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with finance, HR, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless integration between payroll operations, benefits administration, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, such as benefits providers or payroll processors, to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in managing employee compensation, benefits, and timekeeping data.
  • Strong technical skills in using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll software to manage employee data, streamline operations, and generate reports. Familiarity with common HRIS platforms (preferably Paylocity) is essential.
  • A solid understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • The ability to analyze data, generate insights, and provide reports that inform business decisions. Strong skills in data interpretation and the ability to identify trends or discrepancies in compensation and payroll expenses.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees and stakeholders about various issues relating to your role and ensuring clarity in payroll-related processes. Strong problem-solving abilities to address any discrepancies, employee inquiries, and operational challenges.
  • Requirements :

    Necessary Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required
  • Advanced certifications in HR (SHRM-CP, or PHR, are highly desirable)
  • 5 years of experience in HR operations, or similar roles, with a strong understanding of best practices
  • 3 years in talent operations or HR-related functions, including benefits administration, employee onboarding, and HRIS management
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (specifically Paylocity)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and data analysis
  • Solid understanding of payroll tax regulations, labor laws, and compliance requirements, including federal, state, and local regulations is also preferred
  • Familiarity with FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), FICA, W-2s, 1095C, , and other payroll-related tax and reporting requirements.

    In this role, you would be a part of the Talent Team, reporting to our EVP, Talent.?

    Office Expectations :

    This role is HYBRID, with an expectation of 3 days a week in-office at our Gilbert, AZ headquarters. Our hours are 8-5pm.??
