The Controller will undertake all aspects of financial management, including but not limited to reporting, budgeting, and internal policy/procedure development. To succeed in this role, the candidate must be self-directed, have proven financial controller experience and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles/procedures, and experience with GL, A/P, A/R, and Tax Accounting.
Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Manage all accounting operations including, billing, A/R, A/P, and GL
- Create and manage budgetary and financial forecasts and reports
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and regulatory reporting
- Research and resolve technical accounting issues for compliance
- Complete month-end and year-end close process
- Establish and maintain financial controls within the accounting department
- Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and reporting
- Manage and comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to establish and strengthen internal controls
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Coordinate and direct budgeting, procurement, and financial planning
- Identifies, develops, implements, monitors, and analyzes KPI results.
- Directs and develops the organization's international accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
- Maintains an in-depth, and up to date knowledge and understanding of both US and international accounting principles.
- Advises management of potential changes in accounting regulations or practices that may impact international operations and reporting.
- Lead and manage the Human Resources department, overseeing HR operations such as payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with labor regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven working experience as a financial controller
- 3-5 years of combined accounting and finance experience
- Advanced degree in Accounting
- Experience creating financial statements, GL functions, and month/year-end process
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Preferred
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central
Required Education:
- B.S. or above degree in Accounting or related field.
