POSITION SUMMARY
The Nursery Section Grower Lead responsible for maintaining proper plant health throughout the cultivation process. This role will assist the Cultivation Manager in remaining compliant with all safety regulations and will provide direct supervision to the Nursery Technicians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work with Nursery Supervisor to develop, refine and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training program for nursery
- Lead the nursery department to meet production demand, quantity and quality of ready to flower plants
- Direct supervision of Nursery Techs, including mentoring, feedback, and performance reviews
- Record accurate information and ensure all tracking is compliant with government regulations
- Manage plants in early and late vegetative growth
- Maintain plant scheduling and organization week by week for all stages of growth
- Project stages of plants and growth to determine optimal times for transition into flower
- Oversee standard nursery tasks such as watering, transplanting, spacing, topping, and pruning
- Monitor standard cultivation tasks such as spacing, trellis, weaving and spreading
- Perform other duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of the entire cannabis growth cycle and
- Willingness to continue learning about horticulture and cannabis farming, and stay on top of current and future trends
- Have an understanding of plant biology
- Ability to work independently and to multitask efficiently
- Ability to take directions, self-check and follow up on work
