The Finance Unit in DCHS is seeking a skilled, knowledgeable, and highly motivated team player to serve as an Accounts Payable Accountant (Business and Finance Officer II). The position presents a unique opportunity to work with multiple Divisions and Funds within DCHS, playing a crucial role in the proper management of funds. This is a two-year Term Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment opportunity, with the possibility for extension based on business needs.

WORK SCHEDULE / CONDITIONS : This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and not eligible for overtime. Typical hours are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm. This position is represented by PROTEC17.

Unless otherwise directed by the County Executive, department director or agency head, all employees, regardless of designation, are expected to report to work or request leave during an emergency or inclement weather. TELEWORKING REQUIREMENT : The work associated with this position will be performed or conducted through a combination of teleworking and onsite work and meetings. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
RECRUITER : Job Duties
- Perform a variety of related accounting tasks such as management of data in critical systems, review of initial entries and documentation, oversight of subsidiary ledger reconciliation of contracted providers' ledgers vs DCHS grant payments, and development of information to support budget and audit processes.
- Collect, retrieve, and tabulate financial information. Create spreadsheets to improve the gathering, reporting, and logging of financial information.
- Accurately enter account payment data, process, and reconcile payments. Perform daily and monthly account and cash balancing.
- Reconcile funds to the general ledger and cash accounts. Prepare, monitor, and maintain statistics and data related to payments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
