WHO MAY APPLY: This position is open King County employees and the public. This assignment is benefit-eligible and is expected to last for approximately 6 months.SUMMARY: The Communications Center has an opportunity for a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) as an IT Supervisor I, providing strategic IT supervision and management intersecting with facility operations for the 911 Communications Center. This assignment will provide oversight, leadership and management of technical and administrative functions related to procurement, operation, support and maintenance of technical systems for the Communications Center. WORK LOCATION: Regional Communications and Emergency Coordination Center, 3511 NE 2nd St. Renton, WA 98056WORK SCHEDULE: Typical work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, work to be performed in-person at the worksite. This position is not eligible for overtime.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Selection and overseeing the implementation and/or maintenance of all computer services, network communications, and information systems. Advise management regarding long term technological maintenance and infrastructure needs. Perform hands-on technical work which may include design, analysis, maintenance, programming, and problem resolution relating to IT systems. Analyze and evaluate new software and hardware technology and products, and make recommendations on changes in software, hardware or products.Maintain technical support documentation for high availability of business-critical systems and contingency planning Participate in the development of information technology policies and procedures and security plan.Ensure assigned work group is in compliance with County technology standards and policies.Responsible for maintaining regular maintenance and replacement logs.Communicate and collaborate regularly with other technical support supervisors from the KCSO Computer Resource Unit, AFIS IT, King County IT, Valley Communications and with various regional partners. Supervise professional information technology staff for assigned work area.Maintain updated knowledge of relevant information technologies.Available to be on-call
