Summary
This position is open to qualified S.E.I.U. Wastewater Local 925 Senior Operators with a Group III Wastewater Treatment Certificate issued by the Washington State Department of Ecology. Selection will follow Article 8.7 of the Local 925 CBA.

The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) has a staffing need for an experienced and technically proficient Wastewater Treatment Senior Operator in Charge (SOIC - South Plant - B-Crew).
About the Role :
The responsibilities of this position include planning, scheduling, coordinating, directing, monitoring and reviewing a crew's daily work, assigned treatment process and / or special project. Incumbents lead, train and provide technical expertise to operate, monitor and maintain wastewater treatment and odor control equipment, and / or collection and conveyance systems and processes. Responsibilities also include coordinating on-site responses to unusual occurrences and emergencies and may fill in for the Wastewater Treatment Supervisor.

Job Duties
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor and review the daily work of a crew. Coordinate multiple work groups and prepare reports for assigned system or process.
- Assist supervisor in performance feedback and evaluation of personnel; make recommendations on performance improvement measures.
- Identify and work with others (supervisor and / or other staff) in purchasing supplies and equipment; maintain inventory.
- Coordinate and provide technical expertise on special projects.
- Plan, schedule and prioritize work orders with other divisions, departments, and agencies.
- Coordinate on-site responses to unusual occurrences and emergencies.
- Serve as a technical resource for assigned area, system, or process. Respond to questions from other work crews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
