Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk with expertise in managing Paid Time Off (PTO) in compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), the Service Contract Act (SCA), and relevant labor laws. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate PTO records and uphold all regulatory and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- PTO Management:
- Track and manage employee PTO balances, ensuring compliance with CBAs, SCA, and labor laws.
- Update PTO accruals based on employee tenure, hours worked, or other contractual requirements.
- Process PTO requests and approvals, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulations.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Interpret and apply provisions of CBAs, SCA regulations, and applicable labor laws related to payroll and PTO.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of PTO balances, leave usage, and adjustments.
- Prepare reports on PTO usage and balances for management review.
- Communication and Support:
- Serve as a liaison between employees, supervisors, and HR regarding PTO and payroll inquiries.
- Educate employees on PTO policies, accrual methods, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure updates to CBAs, SCA, and labor laws are incorporated into payroll practices.
- Systems and Technology:
- Use payroll software to input, calculate, and update employee records.
- Identify system enhancements to improve PTO tracking and reporting efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing and PTO tracking.
- Experience with CBA and SCA compliance strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll systems (Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Competencies:
- Deep understanding of CBA and SCA provisions as they relate to payroll and PTO.
- Ability to interpret labor laws and apply them to daily payroll processes.
