As an Operations Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees within our organization. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards. Your role will involve collaborating with various departments to promote a culture of safety and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
What to Expect in the Role:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide safety training and education to employees, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized training sessions as needed.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, training activities, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns and implement effective solutions.
- Stay current on relevant regulations, codes, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with external agencies, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), to facilitate inspections and resolve compliance issues.
- Participate in safety committees and meetings to discuss safety performance, initiatives, and goals.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
What We Will Be Needing From You:
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate controls.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, OHST, CHST) is preferred but not required.
