Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate Merchant with knowledge in Men’s and Women’s apparel, luggage, and home to join our team. This role requires someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, balancing administrative tasks with product management and vendor coordination.
This role is heavily focused on purchase order management and operational responsibilities, including data entry, inventory tracking, and coordinating with various teams to ensure smooth business operations. The ideal candidate is highly efficient, process-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What to Expect in the Role:
- Input and maintain product data in internal systems, ensuring accurate descriptions, pricing, and categorization.
- Work directly with vendors to negotiate pricing, follow up on order statuses, resolve discrepancies, delivery schedules and tracking.
- Track product performance, gather sales data, and use it to make purchasing decisions.
- Support the Planning & Allocation team in monitoring stock levels and replenishment needs.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure product information is correctly integrated into campaigns, online platforms, and promotional materials.
- Partner with Product Development team to facilitate smooth operations between departments.
- Maintain detailed notes and reports from vendor meetings, ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
- Assist in sales reporting, compiling and organizing data for leadership review. Support the Director of Merchandising in implementing broader product strategies and to ensure alignment with overall merchandising strategies and occasionally fills in for Assistant Merchant in their absence.
What We Will Be Needing From You:
- Proven experience in retail operations, merchandising support, or a similar clerical-heavy role within apparel, luggage, or home goods.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Comfortable managing high volumes of data entry and reporting.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills when working with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and retail management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Occasional travel for trade shows or vendor visits as needed.
