Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks in commercial and residential settings, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas by restocking supplies and sanitizing surfaces.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, and waxing to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are used safely and efficiently while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to complete larger cleaning projects or special requests from management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial services or commercial cleaning is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques and equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and custodial best practices is beneficial.
