We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator who is self-driven and motivated in designing, delivering improvements, and supporting our critical Financial and Accounting business systems, among others.
Along with project delivery and operational support responsibilities, the Senior Database Administrator will contribute to strategic efforts in cloud data migration and governance and is expected to proactively identify tools and solutions for maintenance and development purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all data flows, integrations and technology components of the firm’s finance and accounting systems.
- Execute routine and emergency maintenance support for SQL databases.
- Work with project managers and other members of the IT department to ensure solutions meet user requirements and established IT standards.
- Provide production support for deployed systems, including rotating on-call duty.
- Perform effective system testing, and document and resolve problems to ensure project efforts remain on schedule.
- With minimal supervision, lead the development and implementation of technical solutions on projects dealing with law firm Financial, Human Resources, Imaging, workflow, and New Business Intake (NBI) and Conflict systems.
- Mentor other members of the IT department on database design and operational optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience with SQL-based database management systems, including 3 years recent experience working with MS SQL Server 2012-2022.
- Strong technical experience administering and supporting financial/accounting systems, with thorough working knowledge of both the database, servers and application components, including the associated hardware (compute, memory, and storage) and operating systems.
- Extensive experience with Windows/Azure architecture and possess a deep working knowledge of core administrative applications, including security and permissions.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization and with end users to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Organized and willing to take ownership of multiple projects, responsibilities and requests simultaneously.
- Experience supporting law firm/professional services administrative systems is highly desirable, especially Aderant Expert Financial Management System (FMS) and iTimekeep timekeeping solutions.
- Microsoft Certified DBA (including Azure DBA) is preferred.
- Experience with Azure, Windows Server platforms and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) planning and architecture.
- Familiarity with server virtualization technologies and containerization.
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and database management.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate closely as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
