About the Job:
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Recreation Assistant to join our team at the King William County Department of Parks and Recreation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Manager of Parks and Recreation, updating the department's website content, and assisting in developing public information venues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support to the Manager of Parks and Recreation.
- Updating the department's website content.
- Assisting in developing public information venues.
- Acting as a backup for staff in the After-School care program.
- Performing other related duties as directed by the Parks and Recreation Director.
Requirements:
- Experience working in recreation programs either private or public.
- Experience working with volunteers and part-time staffing in recreation activities.
- Able to move from program office support to field program support without difficulty.
- Experience working with children and teen recreational programs.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent communication traits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn County and departmental software related to websites, registrations, etc.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time hourly position, approximately 25 hours per week, requiring moderate latitude for independent judgment and action. Periodic evening and weekend work are required.
