Kingdom East School District, in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, seeks a highly motivated, inquisitive and creative team player to direct and coordinate the selection, development, and evaluation of standards-based curriculum, assessment, instructional programs, and professional development opportunities; assist building principals, student services director and superintendent in long range planning for instruction, curriculum, assessment, and professional learning; to collaboratively lead comprehensive planning for continuous improvement; lead the Consolidated Federal Grant team; serve as a liaison to the school district and community, interpreting activities and policies of the district and encouraging community involvement with the district; and to supervise related programs including grants.
Kingdom East School District serves approximately 1500 children in PreK-8th grade. We operate eight PK-8 elementary/middle school programs. High school students exercise choice and are tuitioned to independent or public schools in the region. We are located in a small, vibrant, supportive community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The towns of Lancaster NH and both Lyndon and St. Johnsbury, Vermont have numerous arts and cultural activities including Lyndon State College. With breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities, and close to the White Mountains, forests, streams and lakes, the culture of the community attracts a diversity of families, faculty and staff. The schools range in size from 65 to 400 students and maintain creative programs, highly qualified science, literacy and mathematics content coaches, impassioned faculty, personalized beliefs about success for all children, and caring, safe school cultures. The candidate must be dynamic, inquisitive and interested in joining a team of administrators. Experience as a teacher and some administrative or leadership experience required.
