What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Counselor (0.3 FTE) position at Kingdom East Unified Union School District?
Kingdom East School District seeks a 0.3 FTE School Counselor to work two to three days per week at the Lunenburg School. Candidates must be dynamic, quality school guidance counselors interested in working with Kindergarten through fifth-grade students. Responsibilities include guidance instruction embedded in the classroom and small group and individual school counseling services. The ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, in partnership with area service agencies, and build strong relationships with families is a necessity.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with collaborative teams and possess knowledge of positive behavior interventions, multi-tiered supports, and Responsive Classroom practices. We seek creative, passionate counselors with a sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people within a collaborative team environment. The district provides mentorship and a supportive administration.We are located in the heart of a vibrant Northeast Kingdom of Vermont community. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students.
Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing.We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston, and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains.
Both Littleton, NH, and St. Johnsbury, VT, have numerous fine and performing arts venues. Our communities attract wholesome families, faculty, and staff. Our schools maintain impassioned faculty, personalized beliefs about success, and a caring, safe school culture.
