Kingman, AZ is located along Historic Route 66, just 90 minutes south of Las Vegas and two hours North of Phoenix in the beautiful high desert of Mohave County. Position Purpose:
All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision of providing the region’s best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.
The Director of Engineering, Construction and Security Operations manages the operational and budgetary oversight for the Plant Operations and Security Departments. This position will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating the Master Facility Plan at least annually, and be responsible for all organization construction projects.
This position will be responsible for routine and annual security risk assessments to maintain safety for patients, visitors and staff.
The Director is responsible for the development, oversight, monitoring, evaluating, and improving the KHI emergency preparedness program. This role is responsible for interacting with county, state, and federal agencies to maintain the highest state of readiness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Directs all daily operations of KHI facility and grounds maintenance including inpatient and outpatient facilities, medical offices, and other facilities owned and operated by KHI.
2. Responsible for employee relations as well as financial and operational performance of the Engineering, Construction, and Security Operations Departments.
3. Oversees construction and facilities development.
4. Works closely with the Chief Operating Officer on renovation projects.
5. Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures, repair and preventive maintenance record keeping, life safety system testing, and all other facility related duties.
6. Manages the financial activities of the departments including budget preparation, capital purchases, management of ongoing projects, and efficient expense management.
7. Manages and leads the Engineering, Construction, and Security Operations staff.
8. Conducts a campus security vulnerability report and generates a plan to address vulnerabilities. [Plan to be approved by appropriate Senior Manager].
9. Conducts drills, audits and investigations that promote KHI campus security.
10. Works with the appropriate KHI personnel to ensure that equipment is safe, operable, and meets regulatory standards.
11. Maintains knowledge of and compliance with regulating / accrediting agency requirements.
12. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Engineering, Construction, Security Departments and KHI.
13. Continuously manages the Emergency Preparedness Program for the organization.
14. Maintains and oversees the emergency preparedness equipment integrity through monitoring and audits of the equipment.
15. Analyzes emergency preparedness data, providing ongoing evaluation leading to improvement of the preparedness system.
16. Makes recommendations for changes in response, equipment, documentation, policies and procedures.
17. Maintains documentation on all code triages, both real and mock, for review by regulatory agencies. Reviews code triage documentation for accuracy and completeness.
18. Provides appropriate follow-up to involved staff.
19. Plans, organizes, and facilitates the Code Triage Committee.
20. Represents emergency preparedness on key identified hospital committees.
21. Educates leadership and front-line staff on the KHI Incident Command System and roles and responsibilities in a disaster.
22. Serves as internal resource for staff in emergency preparedness issues.
23. Operates utilities plan and is aware of emergency procedures for all utilities.
24. Participates in emergency preparedness activities at the community, state, and/or national levels.
25. Helps to create/develop the Facility Master Plan.
26. Performs security risk assessments and ensure compliance for all appropriate regulatory drills and education.
27. Responsible for all Facility and security regulatory statutes for CMS and State certification
Required Qualifications
Experience: Five years of management and/or engineering experience in related field or capacity, preferably in a hospital setting.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification/Licensure: Valid Driver’s License
Skills/Knowledge: Excellent leadership and team-building skills; highly motivated, and detailed orientated. Ability to exercise mature and sound judgment in the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures; effective interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills; ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare concise, accurate reports; knowledge of current state and federal regulatory requirements.
Preferences
Bachelor’s Degree or certification in one or more specific trade associated with Plant Operations.

Work Requirements
