What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher for County-Wide List position at Kings County Office Of Education?
Possess a valid California credential or meet requirements for an emergency substitute permit.
Satisfy Basic Skills Requirement (BSR) by: BA degree, CBEST, ACT/SAT or qualifying coursework in reading, writing, and mathematics (courses must have been taken at a regionally-accredited college or university for credit, passed with a grade of B or better, be degree applicable, and be at least 3 semester units or 4 quarter units). Copies of the exam results or official transcripts must be provided with your application. For out-of-state trained teachers, please give us a call to see if your out of state basic skills exams qualifies in lieu of the CBEST. The CBEST is given approximately every other month. Registration is on-line at www.ctcexams.nesinc.com.
Official Transcripts: Transcripts showing the degree posted and education program/major, including student teaching if applicable, must be provided OR transcripts showing completed classes and classes you are currently enrolled in. It is best to have your transcripts sent to yourself and turn them in to this office with your completed application package. You may open the envelope containing your transcripts, yes, we said open them, but the transcripts themselves must be on a watercolor paper, carry a raised or embossed seal and be signed by the registrar. If ordering e-scripts they must be e-mailed directly from your college or university to crystal.marroquin@kingscoe.org or they will not be accepted. Please email Michelle at this email address to inform her you are requesting transcripts sent to her by your college or university. Grade reports are not acceptable.
Possess a valid driver's license and maintain insurability.
Must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to work sites within Kings County.
