What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide - RFT - Dietary position at KINGS DAUGHTERS MEDICAL CENTER?
The Dietary Aide may be trained to work in three areas of the Dietary Department which includes the dish area, cafeteria, and storage areas.
Responsibilities include:
Dish Area: Operates the dish machine to ensure all dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. are properly cleaned as to the correct procedure.
Cafeteria: Sets up and serves foods and beverages to customers in the cafeteria area.
Storeroom: Checks in all ordered and stores items such as groceries, food, and paper.
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Ability to communicate, read and write the English language.
- Demonstrates good knowledge of safe food practices and willing to learn good infection control techniques.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Ability to carry out directions regarding each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs to provide the appropriate preparation of food.
- Ability to develop a thorough understanding of therapeutic diets through formal education or on-the-job training.
- Able to work rotation of hourly schedules including weekends and holidays.

- Bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, manipulating equipment, temperature tolerance, heavy cleaning, subject to stressful situations and ability to stand for long periods of time.
