What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Lab Tech - RFT - Laboratory Services position at KINGS DAUGHTERS MEDICAL CENTER?
JOB SUMMARY
Performs hematology, coagulation, chemistry, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, immunology, microbiology, and phlebotomy procedures in a prompt and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies/procedures. Assists department supervisors with daily operation issue. Setup new methodologies, develops procedural protocols and trains lab personnel in the use of instrumentation. Participates in PI activities and supports the hospital in ensuring the department meets CAP, CLIA, and DNV-GL accreditation standard. Ensures federal, state, and agency regulations and standards are met. Uses independent judgement, recognizes and resolves problems as part of daily performance duties.
- Associate of Science degree with a major in Medical Laboratory Technology. Successful completion in internship and MLT registry examination or registry eligible.
- Experience gained in fulfilling the clinical requirements to qualify for registry examination.
- Nationally recognized certification such as MLT(ASCP).
- Good communication skills, computer skills preferred.
- Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care.
NOTE: Hours for this position are 6pm to 6am. Rotating 5/2 split shift.
