Summary Description
This position is responsible for driving all departments with technical troubleshooting, problem resolution and process maintenance. The role requires coordination with leadership, engineering, maintenance and production personnel to ensure efficient operation of production processes and adherence to quality standards.
Essential Duties
Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Safety Compliance: Performs all work in safe manner; promotes and fosters a safe work environment.
2. Troubleshooting Support: Is responsible for troubleshooting support to keep production lines running efficiently and ensure specified levels of product quality.
3. Process Improvement Support: Owns process improvement, equipment repairs, upgrades and new continuous improvement installation projects. Ensuring all Key KPI’s are achieved.
4. Support for New Processes: Drives the implementation of new or changed processes.
5. Standards Adherence: Reviews and monitors adherence to manufacturing and quality standards to optimize cost, productivity and customer satisfaction.
6. Communication: Delivers regular progress reports and updates. Contributes to the generation and execution of training documentation and programs for production personnel.
7. Problem Solving: Troubleshoots production problems and communicates resolutions clearly with minimal assistance.
8. Production Efficiency: Maintains run efficiencies for the line and process. Ensuring all operational KPI’s are met.
9. Quality Control: Ensures quality of products on the production line according to the company Group Product Compliance Policy.
10. Start Up and Changeover Support: Assists in production start ups and changeovers. Or other duties as may be requested.
11. Material and Product Trials: Supports new product development and new material trials.
12. Equipment Operation: Operates forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. At least 8-10 years of directly related successful experience and knowledge in building products and packaging manufacturing is preferred. SAP or similar software experience preferred.
Must have:
· Experience with business computer applications (Microsoft Office).
· Significant technical knowledge base of building product equipment to include mechanical operation, troubleshooting and problem solving, with hands-on experience of equipment repairs, rebuilds and upgrades.
Must be able to:
· Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
· Using data to identify opportunities of improvement.
· Must be able to effectively operate extrusion and conversion equipment with complete understanding of all involved processes.
· Work in a team based environment.
· Work shift schedule, including overtime. May be assigned to other shifts as needed. Shift schedule may include late nights and weekends.
· Set and manage multiple priorities.
· Complete forklift certification program.
· Follow directions and get along well with others.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate orally and written in English.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures by using basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
