Summary Description
This position is responsible for providing shift leadership while monitoring production performance and maintaining maximum output and quality on scheduled equipment. Develops, motivates, and supervises employees by setting goals and objectives with accountability for results.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for scheduling the work of all Production and Warehouse personnel during their shift, ensuring that all shipments and customer orders are accurately cut, packed, shipped and timely released. The incumbent is expected to assist in making personnel decisions including recommendations for hiring, performance management, training, safety, etc. The incumbent will understand how to work all EPS machinery in the plant to ensure they are operating efficiently and are not a safety hazard to the employees.
Additionally, the incumbent should have a working knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use and maintenance of industrial equipment, be familiar with production schedules and the use of sketches, bills of material and specifications, plus a broad shop background and practical training relative to manufacturing and safety general industry standards.

Education And/or Experience
Employees must have a high school diploma or GED. An undergraduate-level course of study is preferred. A minimum of 5 years supervisory warehousing experience in a manufacturing plant is a must. Experience in building materials and the chemical industry is a plus.

- Promote Safety: Ensure all tasks are performed safely and cultivate a secure work environment.
- Support IT Issues: Assist operators with computer problems and relay feedback issues to IT support.
- Daily Line Inspections: Walk the production line daily and complete/verify CILS (Continuous Improvement and Lean Systems).
- Manage Work Orders: Create and submit work order requests through PEMAC.
- Resolve Mechanical Issues: Collaborate with maintenance to address and fix mechanical problems on the production line.
- Silo and Baghouse Oversight: Manage silo operations and baghouse systems to ensure dust collector bags are not overfilled.
- Monitor Production Output: Ensure the line is operating at the correct output and report any discrepancies in process conditions to the Production Manager.
- Complete Checklists: Ensure that start-up and safety checklists for the area are completed and signed off before machinery begins operation.
- Redirect Workforce: Direct employees to alternative areas or tasks when the production line is down.
- Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure all quality forms and requirements are completed and adhered to.
- First Piece Inspection: Verify that all first-piece inspections and quality specifications are met.
- SAP Verification: Review and confirm goods issues and other confirmations in SAP during the shift.
- Data Collection: Complete data collection sheets and submit information through the appropriate channels.
- Operator Training: Assist with on-the-job and hands-on training of Operators.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the production area is clean and organized, and that the shadow board is properly stocked.
- Update Pace Boards: Ensure hourly Pace boards are updated and filled out on time.
- Conduct Meetings: Organize and lead Start-Up and Change Over meetings.
- Plan Work Assignments: Set deadlines, prioritize tasks, and plan work sequences based on plant management’s schedules, methods, and policies, ensuring timely and error-free completion in line with standard procedures, product specifications, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Other Supervisors: Align work with supporting or related functions managed by other supervisors.
- Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical direction and assistance to employees to help them accomplish challenging work steps and processes.
- Supervise Cutting Activities: Oversee and coordinate the activities of workers operating cutting machines to ensure output meets customer specifications.
- Inspect Work Output: Examine work output by checking work orders, inspecting materials, and measuring all pieces before packaging or loading onto trailers.
- Manage Shipments: Supervise the receipt of all shipments and ensure that any receiving discrepancies or product damages are reported in writing according to standard operating procedures by the end of the shift.
- Handle Complaints: Evaluate and address complaints related to material shipments appropriately.
- Maintain Housekeeping: Ensure good housekeeping practices in the production, warehouse, and surrounding areas.
- Monitor Attendance: Track and manage daily absences, tardiness, and overtime considerations using UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) system.

- Language skills – Proficiency in English is required for this supervisory role. Candidates must be able to read, speak, write, and understand documents such as work orders, picking sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Spanish language skills are preferred.

- Safety acumen & safe operation of forklift - must successfully pass OSHA 10-hour safety and health training, forklift training and job assessments
