We are currently seeking a Drafting Manager has oversight responsibility for all drafting activity inside and outside the company. This includes hands-on supervision and scheduling of the drafting group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assist with, preparation of all drawings, BOM’s, data entry, and project specifications while ensuring internal and external quality control.
- Work directly with project managers to schedule orders into the drafting department for submittals and production package.
- Hold weekly order review meetings with sales/drafting/production departments to discuss and plan for upcoming orders, and any problems that need to be resolved.
- Coordinate and provide drafting support on all product lines to meet quality, on-time delivery, and customer expectations. This includes floor support as well as accurate drawings, job bill of materials, and methods of manufacturing for factory personnel.
- Communicate with reps, architects, and contractors as needed for clarification of customer needs. Resolve drafting related job problems with internal and external customers.
- Coordinate training of new and existing employees in correct drawings, bill of materials, and methods of manufacturing required for the business integrated system.
- Support the sales department on technical issues relating to all product lines, troubleshoot problems in the field and factory, develop solutions, create easier methods and search for improvement.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of outside engineering consultants working on behalf of KLA.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of drafting experience in a management/supervisory capacity.
- An undergraduate degree in mechanical or architectural design, along with production engineering is a plus.
- Ability to stay current with drafting and manufacturing engineering technology.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor programs.
- Knowledge of drawing standards, or designing projects from conceptual ideas.
- Ability to understand design loading and structural calculations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, prioritize work, and coordinate various activities.
