The job of Student Information Services Technician was established for the purpose of assisting in managing the student information database systems, providing instruction and advice to system users, analyzing problems and issues related to the student information database system and related software; providing technical usage support among all system users; and producing a wide variety of statistical reports.

Experience: Job related experience is required with proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Google applications, import/export, vlookup and match functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains Student ID database. Creates a new database each school year, takes student pictures, prints ID cards and distributes via Homeroom on the first day of school. Enter data and print cards for new students.
- DSX - manage key card system for high school, troubleshoot card issues, create card for new students, replace lost cards, add/delete student access to different buildings as needed, communicates with district staff about DSX needs, add/delete rosters for extracurricular activities, and work with district staff to replace lost staff cards. Prepare key cards for incoming freshmen each year.
- Review and help update the course catalog each year.
- Master Schedule - updates student schedules as needed, assigns all students to a Homeroom and lunch period, creates new courses and sections as needed, sets up the SIS in the build view for the next school year. Maintains and updates all course data. Analyze student needs and course requests.
- Enters grades for CCA, NTHS, DB Lab, transfer students, summer school, TCAT and postsecondary institutions.
- Imports various data into SIS (Civic Test scores and Local Dual Credit Scores)
- Add transcript comments for passing local dual credit scores and industry certifications.
- Ready Grad info – enters and tracks student progress towards Ready Grad status. Review and record EPSO data including local dual credit attempts, state dual credit attempts, industry certifications earned, dual credits earned, and ACT scores.
- Enter student alerts as needed (Legal, Ready Grad, Prohibited Contact)
- Works with the graduation coach to make sure all graduation requirements are met by running reports and analyzing data. Creates lists of requirements not met a few times a year. (Who has not taken the civics test, who has not taken the ACT, who needs a world language waiver etc.
- Enter and maintain obligations in SIS and provide lists to school staff.
- Update course and gpa information when students earn local dual credits and industry certifications.

- Callouts/emails to students/parents/guardians
- Provides student rosters to the testing coordinator and others as needed.
- Uploads transcripts into the various databases (Clearinghouse/Major Clarity) 3 times a year.
- Maintains extra-curricular course rosters in SIS
- Inputs data into the student information system (e.g. student record updates, assessment records, attendance, scheduling, grading, transcripts, etc.).
- Generates internal and external data reports.
- Instructs site staff on the use of student information systems (e.g. new applications, upgrades, updates, etc.).
- Provides technical support and training for end users (e.g. school secretaries, principals, and other staff).
- Identifies and resolves issues related to the student information systems and software applications.
- Verifies data through various means utilizing excel functions such as, exact, concatenate, v-lookup and match to ensure accuracy of reports and appropriate coding of special populations.
- Responds to inquiries relating to computer hardware and/or software applications (primarily student information/attendance software; teacher grade book; and parent and student portals).
- Assists with technical support and training of end users (e.g. school secretaries, principals, and other staff) for the system-wide communication call out systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
