Corporate Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant in the Toledo area to join our team!

The purpose of the position is to prepare monthly financial statements and analysis, budgets and cost reports for multiple facilities. Serve as home office liaison to facilities.

Job Duties:

• Support accounts payable activities for assigned facilities including ensuring accuracy of coding and timeliness of payment
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations
• Prepare accounting related journal entries
• Provide detail analyses and explanations for all transactions and account variances
• Prepare accurate and timely internal financial statements
• Ensure established accounting procedures and policies, including segregation of duties, are in place and being adhered to
• Maintain financial records in compliance with CMS guidelines, company policy, and US GAAP
• Prepare annual schedules and reconciliations relating to internal and external audits
• Maintain fixed asset records
• Prepare facility budgets with the assistance of Company department heads and management
• Preparation and filing of annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
• Serve as the primary contact for facility staff on accounting/financial related inquiries

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree in Accounting required. Other business degrees will be considered if combined with the right experience
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Proficient in excel and financial management systems
• Knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Knowledge of Skilled Nursing Medicare and Medicaid regulations and cost reporting preferred
• Must be able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner and work effectively with minimal supervision
• The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, highly analytical, strong critical thinking skills, and have demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Minimal travel may be necessary
