Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting with the design preparation, records maintenance, and providing technical support to internal team members and external customers. Will complete activities to test or modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, or electrical control equipment, and circuity for the company’s industrial/commercial product line(s).
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications.
- Ability to make sound/logical decisions, use strong analytical skills, and promptly and thoroughly solve problems.
o Requires communications with Supervisor, peers, and customers.
- Must possess a good understanding of engineering design and drafting, and the terms and methods used in engineering procedures.
- Ability to use algebraic formulas, statistical mathematics, and trigonometry tables to accomplish assigned jobs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
o Uses time management skills and with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues with customers.
Responsibilities
- Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material.
- Write engineering specifications to clarify design details or functional criteria of experimental electronics units.
- Drafting, laying out and specifying technical devices, parts and equipment.
- Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
o Assemble equipment or components.
o Calibrate scientific or technical equipment
o Maintain electrical equipment
- Assemble electrical systems or prototypes, using hand tools or measuring instruments.
- Inspect electrical project work for quality control and assurance and collaborate with electrical engineers to identify, define or solve developmental problems.
- Repairing and maintaining and testing electronic equipment.
- Interpret test information to resolve design related problems.
- Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards and documenting information in written or electronic form.
- Interpreting the meaning of information to others.
o May assist with the training and teaching co-workers and/or customers.
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with others in organization and persons outside organization.
Experience· High school diploma or equivalent and demonstrated work experience.· Pre-engineering related coursework or vocational school is highly desired.· Electrical engineering experience preferred· Customer relations is a must.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
