Job Description
The purpose of the HR Generalist position is to deliver high quality human resources services and products in order to reach mine production goals. The incumbent is to provide services to all employees to assure fair and equitable treatment in the administration of all Human Resources programs and processes. Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Supervisor, the incumbent shall have responsibilities in all areas of HR, including benefit administration, recruiting and retention efforts, training, and employee relations support while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
Job Responsibilities
1. The incumbent shall assist with the administration of benefits and assure full communication with the department, employee, accounting, and benefit suppliers.
2. Administrate, educate, and counsel employees and supervisors in the correct application of the RMGC and Kinross policies.
3. Administrate HR processes for efficient and effective delivery: accurate data entry, report writing, timely enrollment in benefits, support with policy questions, successful hires, and training delivery.
4. Administration of leave of absence programs including FMLA, military, and personal.
5. Accurately report HR activity for benchmarking and process improvement.
6. Lead department projects, short and long term such as wellness programs, recognition committee and special initiatives. The purpose of all projects will be to improve the workforce and reduce costs.
7. Continually trains on leading Human Resources practices.
8. Respond to employee relations issues and conduct investigations as necessary.
9. Track performance evaluations to ensure employees stay current.
10. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
11. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
12. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
13. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
14. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
15. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
16. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
1. 2-5 years experience in an HR Generalist capacity is preferred.
2. Previous experience working in an HR related role required.
3. College degree or certification with HR related focus is preferred.

4. The incumbent must have a demonstrated ability to establish priorities and maintain deadlines under multiple time pressures.
5. Must possess the ability to work accurately and efficiently with a minimum amount of direct supervision.
6. The incumbent must be able to solve problems through the collection and interpretation of information and make decisions that could modify current procedures and establish new policy direction.
7. Accuracy is essential in the handling of all HR tasks and processes.
8. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
9. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
10. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
11. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
12. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
13. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
14. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
15. Requires valid driver’s license.
