Kinship House is actively seeking a full-time LCSW Clinical Supervisor to join our team of committed, dynamic individuals!

Kinship House is a regional non-profit outpatient mental health provider addressing the mental health needs of the most vulnerable children in our local child welfare system.

Mission Statement: Kinship House provides therapy and advocacy for children experiencing foster care and adoption. We support them as they work through trauma, connect with safe adults, and build stable futures.

This is a full-time exempt position of 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday) reporting to the Clinical Director. This position may require some evening and weekend hours on occasion.

Position Overview: The services provided at Kinship House are rooted in trauma and attachment therapy and child-specific modalities such as play therapy, sand tray therapy, and art therapy. The LCSW Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing one-on-one supervision to assigned clinical staff and carrying a limited direct service caseload in alignment with the philosophy and approach of Kinship House’s clinical services. This position works closely with the Clinical Director to provide effective leadership to our clinical team, ensure compliance and quality of services, and ultimately work to fulfill Kinship House’s mission.

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 DOE

Essential Functions

  • Supervises Child & Family Therapists (4-6)
  • Provides effective leadership to direct reports and the team
  • Works in collaboration with the Clinical Director to ensure team and organizational functioning and success
  • Models and encourages direct, open and professional communication among staff members and facilitates the development of a positive and supportive staff environment
  • Carries a partial clinical caseload

Clinical Supervision

  • Provides consultation, support, and direction to those supervised
  • Able to establish clear expectations regarding job performance, clinical development, and professional development.
  • Provides support and attention to employee successes and addresses performance issues promptly and effectively
  • Monitors employee productivity, documentation, and clinical acumen for adherence to recognized standards and practices of the mental health field
  • Performs scheduled performance reviews
  • Assists with clinical hiring & onboarding

Team Leadership & Clinical Oversight

  • In collaboration with the Clinical Director, monitors and ensures program service quality through: Quality Assurance; Gathering and assessing client demographics and outcome data (MOTS, ACORN, etc.); Ongoing review of current clinical assessment tools and subsequent updating as needed
  • Attends internal and external meetings as required/needed
  • Assists with on-call crisis phone and providing back-up as needed
  • Maintains and directs the maintenance of accurate records and files
  • Provides support for meeting facilitation and other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Mission-driven desire for Kinship House and passion to provide the highest level of positive impact for the children we serve
  • Strong understanding (learned or through lived experience) and communication skills around the role equity, diversity, and belonging play in the lives of children in foster care
  • Demonstrated awareness, attitudes, knowledge and skills that foster a climate of equity and inclusion
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategies related to supervising, task delegation, and cultivating a positive work culture
  • Ability to inspire, train, motivate, challenge, and supervise therapists
  • Ability to performing and support complex problem definition and resolution activities
  • Systems understanding of foster-care, adoption, reunification and other child welfare and related court practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative, anticipate and resolve issues
  • Familiarity with OARs, HIPAA protocols, and the APA code of ethics
  • Experienced understanding of medicaid documentation requirements
  • Knowledge of procedures and workflows in a community mental health organization
  • Ability to lead with curiosity and assuming the best in peers and supervisees
  • Ability to exemplify and model the core values of Kinship House: service, healing, teamwork, respect, and integrity

Required Qualifications

  • Must be licensed as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years experience as a mental health clinician, preferably focused on children involved with foster care and adoption
  • 2 years experience providing supervision
