Job Summary:
The Mathematics Manager serves as a key leader on the KIPP Atlanta Schools Teaching & Learning Team, supporting the implementation of a cohesive, research-based math strategy across K-12. Reporting to the Director of Mathematics, the Math Manager will drive excellence in math instruction by coaching and developing Assistant Principals and instructional leaders to effectively support teachers in implementing high-impact, conceptually grounded, and standards-aligned math practices. The Math Manager will play a critical role in continuous school improvement efforts, working closely with school-based leadership teams to ensure that math instruction aligns with CCRPI accountability standards, improves student proficiency in numeracy and problem-solving, and leads to measurable academic gains.
This individual must bring deep expertise in math coaching, curriculum implementation, data-driven instruction, and professional development facilitation, ensuring all teachers receive the support, feedback, and resources needed to drive student success. This role requires strong knowledge of high-quality math curricula, including Illustrative Mathematics, Eureka Math, and assessment tools such as NWEA MAP and district benchmark assessments, along with the ability to analyze student performance data to drive strategic instructional decisions. The ideal candidate is an experienced instructional leader who can impact and influence school-based teams, ensuring math instruction is rigorous, engaging, culturally responsive, and meets the needs of all learners.

- Coach and develop Assistant Principals and instructional leaders to strengthen their ability to support teachers in implementing high-impact, conceptually grounded, and standards-aligned math practices.
- Provide job-embedded coaching, professional development, and instructional guidance to ensure rigorous and engaging math instruction across all grade levels.
- Support schools in effectively implementing high-quality math curricula, including Illustrative Mathematics, Eureka Math, and other research-based resources.
- Model effective instructional strategies and lead data-driven coaching cycles with school leaders to improve teacher effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Build the instructional capacity of APs to ensure they are coaching teachers using best practices in mathematical discourse, problem-solving, and real-world application.

- Support school-based leadership teams to ensure math instruction aligns with CCRPI accountability standards, state-mandated assessments, and district benchmarks.
- Analyze scholar performance data from NWEA MAP, formative assessments, and state exams to identify trends, strengths, and areas for growth.
- Work alongside Principals and APs to develop targeted intervention strategies for students who need additional support in mastering grade-level math standards.
- Collaborate with regional and school-based teams to ensure math instruction is culturally responsive, student-centered, and focused on conceptual understanding.
- Assist schools in implementing effective acceleration and intervention strategies for scholars performing below grade level.
- Partner with MTSS and Special Education teams to ensure that math interventions are aligned, research-based, and effective in accelerating student growth.

- Design and lead high-impact professional development sessions for school leaders and math teachers focused on instructional best practices, data analysis, and curriculum implementation.
- Support the integration of differentiated instruction, problem-based learning, and discourse-driven math instruction into daily teaching practices.
- Partner with school leaders to embed best practices for numeracy development, conceptual math understanding, and fluency-building strategies into teacher training.
- Collaborate with school teams to ensure consistent instructional practices and alignment across K-8 and high school mathematics courses.
- Work closely with Principals, APs, and the Teaching & Learning Team to ensure that math instruction meets the needs of all learners, including those who require differentiated support.

- Ensure high-fidelity implementation of Illustrative Mathematics, Eureka Math, and aligned math resources across all KIPP Atlanta Schools.
- Train and support school leaders and teachers in the effective use of assessment tools, including NWEA MAP and district benchmark assessments.
- Support schools in creating aligned scope and sequence plans that promote deep understanding and ensure mathematical coherence from K-12.
- Ensure that instructional practices align with Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) and best practices in math education
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Mathematics, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in K-12 mathematics instruction, with a proven track record of improving student outcomes.
- At least 3 years of experience and proven results coaching teachers and/or instructional leaders in math instruction.
- Strong knowledge of Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE), CCRPI accountability measures, and research-based math instructional strategies.
- Experience in continuous school improvement efforts, including data analysis and targeted intervention planning.
- Expertise in high-quality math curricula, including Illustrative Mathematics, Eureka Math, and assessment tools such as NWEA MAP and district benchmarks.
- Ability to impact and influence school-based teams, ensuring math instruction is rigorous, engaging, culturally responsive, and meets the needs of all learners.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to support teachers and school leaders effectively.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, multi-task, work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, operate effectively with ambiguity, and be willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation for this role is between $80,000 - $90,000. The salary range is determined in accordance with the pay scale for the 2024-2025 school year and may be subject to modification. The starting pay will depend on various factors that may include but are not limited to professional experience, education, training, and certifications.

Location & Work Conditions:
Requires candidates to be based in Atlanta and, regularly be in schools and able to attend in-person meetings and events. Additional in-person time may be necessary based on organizational needs. This position also requires routine physical activity associated with normal office environments. This position may require the ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds..
