Your responsibilities as a leader:
Our schools are seeking awe-inspiring leaders to coach and grow our teachers, or operational support staff who support our students as they develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths needed to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.
Help Build a Positive School Culture
- Collaborate as a member of the school leadership team and regional leadership team to ensure all students meet school goals: Conduct weekly conversations with the school leadership team focused on student achievement data for focus grade levels and ensure that there are clear next steps and strategies to drive student outcomes; attend monthly regional AP/School Leader PD; Drive/provide input to school vision and goals
- Build strong teams characterized by trust, investment in goals, and ownership
- Set/Uphold schools vision for school culture and hold teachers and students accountable to expectations, in classrooms and in all shared spaces.
- Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
- Work with members of a cohort to set individual goals based on school-wide goals and achievement data
- Manage the performance of staff to get outcomes for kids through O3s, observation/feedback, and professional development;
- Conduct weekly O3s with each member of your cohort focused on instructional and/or operational strategies, content, and feedback based on observations and holding them accountable to goals
- Conduct weekly walk-throughs, use real-time data
- Pursue challenging professional goals each year
- Give and receive positive and constructive feedback from your colleagues
- Led and participate in school-wide and individual professional development
The following are required of KIPP St. Louis leaders (Please review job descrioptions above for specific qualfications of each role) :
- Bachelor’s Degree (required), Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Teaching Certificate; Administrator Certificate (preferred) (certification not required for Assistant School Leader of Operations)
- An uncompromising belief that all students can learn
- A relentless work ethic and a high degree of patience to push through difficult challenges
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers
- Excellent organizational skills
- Pass Criminal Background Check
- Excellent computer skills, including all Google based systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap
