KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2024-2025 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade

In the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm, K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 student dismissal is at 1:30pm 

  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School student dismissal is at 12:30pm. 

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville seeks a full time lunch/hall monitor at KIPP Bold City High School. Each monitor works 6:45am - 3:45 pm and monitors the hallways and cafeteria at the school to ensure the safety and well-being of the students, staff and school facilities.

During the daily shift, the hall/lunch monitor will supervise students by: 

  1. Ensuring that norms and expectations for the hallways and cafeteria are adhered to by using positive reinforcement, stating clear expectations for students, and following the school’s steps to manage all student behavior(s) 

  2. Maintaining the schedule for grade levels (i.e. overseeing transitions, monitoring time, giving time warnings, etc.) 

  3. Assist, as needed, to get students through the serving line and through the hallways and staircases

  4. Assist, as needed, to direct students to their tables and classes

To be successful in this role, candidates should enjoy spending time with high school students, be flexible when needed, and excel at helping a schedule to run smoothly. 

Hourly rate: $13/hour
Schedule: 6:45 am - 3:45 pm
Maximum hours worked per week would be 40

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Promptness

  • Passing a background check, as required by law

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience working with high school students
